Dark is not the answer!
Still struggling with my tesselation which has been cluttering up the design wall, I decided today to remove the dark shapes I had put in and try white instead. I now have a fair few blocks joined and some interesting border decisions to make. I then can take it down and get on with the little contemporary block which are

Playing with Strips
Today I quilted my third Journal quilt and then gave myself permission to play with strips:
I had some jelly roll strips but not enough so I cut some more from stash. I organised them into colours that blended and stitched them together in pairs. They were chopped into squares and laid out on point. Some strips were a bit short and I ended up remaking 5 blocks. I quite like the chevron effect but I'll have to look for a larger piece of fabric for setting triangles.
I'm not sure how big this will end up, but will probably make a single bed size Linus quilt unless one of the grandchildren likes it.
I've been revisiting what to do with strips and squares as I have been asked to teach my beginners course again.
The low Winter sun came out from behind the clouds and lit up the world! The iPad takes a reasonable photo when required..
The was an incredible rainbow after this with a very high arc and I found I was driving towards it - magical.

The pictures!
The dark Pineapple quilt:
I am now wondering if the centres might be a bit bright and need toning down a bit perhaps by tea staining?
I am very pleased with how this has come together and it will have a wide medium blue border, and then go off to be quilted.
Many of the fabrics in here, which are left-overs from other projects are now going into my Farmer's Wife blocks.
The Wonky Log Cabin blocks:
The Baby quilt with double pinwheel blocks made from Jellyroll strips for my nephew Carl and Agnieska.
The Farmer's Wife blocks:
Broken Dishes and Peace and Plenty
which both use 16 half-square triangles.
which both were made from the templates Gilly sent
Chequerboard and Storm Signal which were made from the Fiddler's Jig templates on Marcia Hohn's site here as the square-on-point is a strange size
and below is Whirlwind which is straightforward to make.
