Here is the quilt I've been working on to celebrate a friend's wedding.
The pattern is called Winding Ways and I love making it with lots of fabrics so that the mediums interfere somewhat with the continuity of the big dark and light circles and make them seem to move. It gives the quilt surface so much more interest.
On the off chance this is a bit bright for the bedroom, the reverse is a lovely soft pink dot which shows up the quilting by my friend Mandy Parks to perfection.

February Journal Quilt
This is my Journal quilt for February, 'Lifting the Latch'.
It is an image transfer using T-shirt transfer paper which I have knocked back by ironing again under silicon paper as it was very shiny! the image is taken from a photo of an ancient door which had several latches, in the Eco Musee in Alsace, taken when we visited the Silver Valley Quilt Exhibitions. It is on the same silk used for January's quilt and machine quilted with a rayon thread.
I may use one of the other images next time, perhaps on a differently coloured background.

New Tote Bag
I have been keeping warm and staying in at home, sewing. The smaller roads are icy and the temperature went down to -13c overnight!! Coldest it's been for ages. We've had several more snowstorms today coming off the North Sea, but they were interspersed with blue skies and bright sunshine.
Today I completed my tote bag.It is stitch and flip patchwork over wadding on a cotton duck base. Close stitching to quilt it makes it stand up nicely.
I've added a zip pocket, patch pocket for my phone, and a magnetic fastener.
As I couldn't go out to quilt group at Winterton, on the coast, I spent a while working out how to use the Marti Michell templates to cut some more quilt blocks.
Here is a Shooting Star block for Michelle which I pieced over papers yesterday,
I made Big Dipper for me too as I found a bag with quarter-squares already to go that were the correct size!

Bookwrap
This bookwrap was made with a piece of experimental fabric where lots of shiny scraps are trapped under net and stitched down. It seemed rather scruffy and I had never done anything with it so now I added another layer of shot voile and machine quilted through it all. Then a lining - a bit of hand dyed cotton and here it is!
