Without Pins is the title of my Patchwork classes. I am a Quilter, textile teacher and general fabric collector - or does it come and find me? I like to play with colour and subvert pattern by the use of tone. I have always sewn and stitch something, somewhere, every day.
I went off to teach at Catworth Quilters away the other side of Cambridge from my nest on the Eastern edge of the country. I had a lovely day in a light and airy village hall, once the schoolroom. We made envelope blocks all morning.
Here are some of the ladies hard at work:
And some of their blocks...
and these were really tiny, starting with 2 1/2" squares instead of 5".
In the afternoon we looked at my Eccentric Crosses blocks and there were a few experimental ones made.
More fun with the "Houses Drift" fabrics that I won on line at The Fat Quarter Shop - one of their monthly give-aways, beautifully quilted by Mandy Parks.
It was a great gift, 12 Fat Quarters is a lot of fabric, and so far I've made a pillow sized cushion cover and this quilt and have loads of it still left!
